Movies, shows, and music from a private Plex library. Set it up once in about three minutes; after that, just press play.
First, tap what you'll watch on — the steps adjust to your device.
Open the invitation email from Plex and choose Accept. Sign in to your normal Plex account, or create a free one. Keep using that same account on every device so your access, watchlist, and progress follow you.
Open the App Store, search for Plex, and install it. It's the one with the orange-ish arrowhead icon.
Use the same personal Plex account that accepted the invitation. If the private libraries are not visible after sign-in, open All Libraries and follow the private-libraries fix below.
On a TV, choose Sign In and use the short code on screen. Open plex.tv/link on your phone, enter the code, and the TV signs in without typing a password with the remote.
Open Libraries, choose All Libraries if needed, and Favorite Movies and TV Shows with the heart. That choice syncs to your other modern Plex apps.
Then check picture quality once: leave Quality Suggestions on and set Maximum Remote Quality to Unlimited. If your app uses the older labels, choose Original or Maximum. If one connection buffers, lower only that player one step.
On iPhone/iPad: Plex app → your profile (bottom right) → Settings → Video Quality.
Heads-up: the Plex app also promotes its own free streaming catalog next to the private collection. Both live in the same app — here's how to tell them apart.
Everything shared with you — look for the library names like Movies and TV Shows in the tabs or sidebar. Full quality, never a single ad, and it's what this whole guide is about.
Plex the company also streams its own free movies and channels, and mixes them into the app. Totally fine to browse — but it plays commercials and isn't part of the collection. If a movie suddenly has ads, you've wandered over here, not broken anything.
Tip: under Libraries, favorite Movies and TV Shows with the heart. Their order syncs across modern Plex apps and controls which private-library rows reach Home.
Everything you can do from the player screen. Tap a numbered dot to see what it does.
If the buttons disappear, tap or click anywhere on the picture. The timeline and player controls return without pausing.
The speech-bubble button. Turn an available subtitle track on or off and switch the audio language when a title has more than one. If the track you need is missing, text Shaun.
The gear. Normally leave it alone — but if a movie stutters, pick one step lower right here without leaving playback. It smooths out in seconds.
Drag the timeline freely. Your exact spot is saved on every device: pause on the TV tonight, resume on your phone at lunch tomorrow.
When another episode is queued, the Post Play screen shows it. If Auto Play is on, it starts after the countdown; otherwise one tap starts it.
Back out, close the app, turn off the TV: your place is always kept. Everything you're mid-way through waits under Continue Watching.
The useful extras that work with your normal invited account.
You do not need a Plex Pass or Remote Watch Pass to watch ULRICH WORLDWIDE. The server owner's Plex Pass covers remote playback from this library.
See something interesting? Tap the bookmark. It stays in your Watchlist across Plex apps, waiting for you.
Open Libraries and choose All Libraries if needed. Favorite Movies and TV Shows with the heart; the choice and order sync across modern Plex apps.
Requested → Looking → Added is the plain-language path. Open Requests, sign in with the same Plex account, search, and choose Request. It stays Pending while Shaun reviews it. Only after approval does the search begin. There is no ETA; return to Requests for the current status.
Tap an actor or director on any title to see everything else from them that is already in the library. It is often faster than typing another search.
Install Plexamp (a separate free app), sign in with the same account, and stream the whole music collection anywhere — it even works with CarPlay and Android Auto.
The magnifying glass searches every movie, show, episode, and actor you have access to. Type three letters and jump straight in.
Each viewer's progress is separate. Plex controls account-level sync and profile visibility, and Plex may process that cloud account activity.
The server operator may see playback history and technical diagnostics needed to run the service.
Streaming is the normal move: open Plex and press play. Downloads are the optional offline lane.
Downloads are not enabled by default. Offline viewing requires a supported Plex app on a phone, tablet, or computer, a Plex Pass on the member account (or qualifying Plex Home membership), and server permission enabled for that member. Until those conditions are confirmed, stream normally.
Nothing is promised or unlocked by this page. If offline viewing matters for a trip, ask before you go and the available options can be checked with you.
This is a carefully run private service, not a faceless data center. A few simple habits keep it excellent.
Let Plex start at full quality. Keep Quality Suggestions on. If your connection buffers, accept its suggestion or drop one step from the player gear (dot 3 above). Move it back up when the connection improves.
Bringing kids along? Just say the word — what you see can be filtered for little eyes, or the kids can get their own kid-safe sign-in so their cartoons don't take over your Continue Watching.
Keep your sign-in to yourself. Want to add someone in your house? Just ask — it takes your friend two minutes to invite them properly, with their own watchlist.
Watching this library is covered. You do not need to buy Plex Pass, Remote Watch Pass, a trial, or a rental to watch ULRICH WORLDWIDE. Plex may advertise its own optional products; skip those screens and return to the private library.
Start with the fix that matches what you see.
